10 Uses for borax (cleaning, educating, pest control, fun)

I am on a quest for the perfect laundry soap. I have 2 auto mechanics in the family and it has bothered me to no end that I cannot get their clothes clean. I have tried nearly everything under the sun with tepid results. I am still in search of a great laundry detergent recipe or pre-made for that matter that will get auto grease out of clothes.. especially white shirts my son loves wearing white which masks NOTHING.

But in my quest for the greatest laundry detergent ever I found a whole slew of uses for Borax, enough that I got excited about them and wanted to share. You might be surprised at all the things that little box of white flakes can do. You can use borax in homeschooling, in laundry, in fun projects with the kids and grandkids, in pest control, and more. Below you will find a list of links to a slew of different things you can do with good ol borax. If you know of others holler..

1. as a laundry aid - just add some along with your laundry detergent to boost its cleaning power

2. Make crystals (great idea for homeschoolers)

3. homemade bouncy balls (another great homeschool science project)

6. make slime (another good homeschool science idea)

9.  Milk Paint (non-edible even though it shows it in a glass... Just dont)

I could go on and on about the things I have found that you can use borax for, and I might add to this list later, but for now here is enough to get your feet wet and maybe send you on your own Borax researching adventure..

If you know of more awesome uses leave them in comments I would love to hear about them. If you know of a magical laundry soap for auto mechanics greasy oily clothes Id love to read those in comments too..

Have a great night ya'll
