new concept rocking chair

Here is a new concept in rocking chairs with a built in reading light at the top. If it only had a built in table to the side it would be nearly perfect. (id pick different colors tho) What do you think of it?

Now this excites me, and makes me want to go plant moss all over my 15 passenger van. Im guessing the kids would NOT want to be seen with me in it, so until they are grown I won't... If I can control these strong urges to do something this awesomely insane.

The Nautilus: An Organic Habitat by Javier Senosiain

This fascinating structure was designed and developed by organic architect Javier Senosiain. The Nautilus home was built in Naucalpan, Mexico almost three years ago in 2006. As one can imagine, there were quite a few issues with this type of design. The structure had to undergo numerous changes before the right measurements to safely begin construction were found.

The interior of the structure was designed to create a sense of harmony and flow as one travels through the rooms in the home. The ground floor room is a sitting area surrounded by different types of flora. The rooms become more private as one ascends the spiral staircase. The designer intended to give one the impression of floating over the vegetation on the lower ground floor.

I do believe Mr. Senosiain accomplished his goal. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw images of this home. I think I’ve found my dream home. I’ve always wanted an indoor garden like this. There are simply so many things Mr. Senosiain has gotten right for me with this design. I truly adore The Nautilus home. The only thing I would change is the size. The structure seems to be mansions size, and I would love something like this in a “tiny home” version. I don’t know if it is even possible, but I have a starting point.

Maybe these pictures will inspire you guys. I got pretty excited over them myself. But I don't think I have the eye sight, steady hand, or patience to create such small carvings. If you do.. Or if you have please share your creations in the comment section below.

Victorian Post-mortem photography

I read a while back about when photography was first introduced it was a popular tradition to take pictures of the dead. Gone but not forgotten So when I see these really old photographs I have to wonder how many of these people are dead people?

With some there is no question about the fact that it is a post mortem picture...

In others it's hard to tell that the person you are seeing isnt just sleeping

And still others don't portray death at all. If I saw this photograph below I would assume she was ill and weak and could not hold herself upright.. But I wouldn't assume she was dead. (the girl in the middle is the deceased)

The poor little girl in this photo looks terrified. Can you imagine..

the girl standing n the middle is the dead person in this pic

this one really doesn't have a place in my story other than it shocked me and I felt inclined to include it.. You have to remember that this was the Victorian era when things like siamese twins was kept quiet.

I guess post mortem photography was a beautiful tradition. Tho it seems kind of eerie by todays standards it is still part of our history and provides us a peek into the past.
