Leftover soup

I love my ninja food chopper, I also love soup.. I discovered today that I do not love the two together..

You see Im making leftover soup tonight, and one of the leftovers was brussel sprouts and I wanted to mask them, I thought if I chopped them in the ninja they would look more parsley-esque or spinachy, and while I was at it i thought what the heck lets chop up some carrots too, cuz who likes chopping raw carrots anyway? I mean honestly.. Do you? Having come that far with the ninja I thought what the heck since we are already using it lets not dirty a knife for a handful of onions and so i threw those suckers in the ninjas too.. It all seemed like a good idea.. Until i got the mix together and stirred it around and it looked like someone chewed my soup up, and I guess that is kinda what the ninja did..

With my family, presentation matters.. They are not going to eat pre-chewed soup. Ive added a little rice hoping that will pretty it up and add some needed ?? something to it.. Crossing my fingers cuz Id sure hate for them to be hungry tonight because they are food snobs..

Back in my day it didnt matter what it looked like, but what it tasted like.. These new people tho...

Leftover soup Recipe

Ham leftover from peach glazed ham last night
brussel sprouts left over from buffalo ranch brussel sprouts (rinsed)
corn left over from burger night
baked beans left over from glazed ham night
onion left over from burger night
carrots (they weren't left over but it needed color so i added them)
bacon flavoring
salt
garlic powder
and rice
2 cups water (more or less to your taste but make sure to add enough to compensate for the amount of uncooked rice you add)
cut it, cube it, or throw it in your ninja and simmer half the day.

Just sampled it and the flavor is very much like veggie soup.. It might be a winner after all...

Next adventure is bread pudding with some cranberry bread my daughter brought home from work... (atlanta bread company) Ill let you know how that goes too..
