Product review - Just Panela Artisanal Cane Sugar 100% Unprocessed - 1 pound bag
I was asked to review this product Just Panela Artisanal Cane Sugar 100% Unprocessed - 1 pound bag. I am always eager to try new things, and cooking and food things are where its at for me, so I loved trying this artisanal sugar.
Here is how Panela described their Unprocessed artisanal cane sugar.
- 100% Unprocessed, Artisanal Cane Sugar that is Unrefined and Organic.
- A Product of Colombia with one single ingredient: organic, dehydrated sugar cane juice.
- A More Nutritional Natural Sweetener that is non-centrifugal.
- Leading Mineral Natural Sweetener in Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, & Zinc.
- Great with coffee, espresso, teas, chai, guarapo, cookies, scones, breads, granola, and chocolate.
And here is a look at the product packaging
The texture is about the same as white sugar, It has a light brown color that looks similar to light brown sugar but this artisanal cane sugar isn't moist like brown sugar. It has all the qualities of processed white sugar except the color, visually speaking.
Taste wise Panela unprocessed artisanal cane sugar has a slightly different flavor. It has a flavor that reminds me of molasses its no where near as strong in flavor as molasses but it has a hint of that flavor
I tried Panela artisanal unprocessed sugar in coffee, in iced sweet tea, and in a brownie recipe. I enjoyed it in the coffee and the brownies, But not as much in the sweet tea. Then again I'm from the dirty south and we take our sweet tea serious down here. You just don't mess with it. You use the same recipe mama used, and grandma, and probably her grandma too.
All things considered It is a good product for most things, and I would probably buy it again, but, price wise it's a bit costy, and I never understood that about things.. If you do less work to them, if you don't put in the man hours to process it, why are you charging me more for doing less?
So, to sum it up, if you can fit it into your budget it is worth taking a closer look at. Give it a try leave your opinions in comments. I'd love to compare notes. But if your budget is as tight as the budget here on the plantation then it's probably not worth the extra expense.

Product review for Wanxuan Sports Sunglasses
I was asked to review this product recently.
Wanxuan Sports Sunglasses for Men Women Cycling Running Driving Fishing Golf Baseball Glasses. I have a pair of Costa sunglasses that my son gave me that I love dearly and they are the only ones for me, but my daughter had been talking about needing some shades so I gave them to her and at first she didn't like them, said they made her look like a space cowboy.. But I think they have grown on her. Ive seen her wearing them and I personally think she looks pretty good in them. They are fairly well made, good sturdy plastic. For the price I think they are well made, I like that they are curved and formed to the shape of the head to keep out all the sun. Having a cataract in one eye I appreciate that in sunglasses because I have a sensitivity to bright light and this type of sunglass keeps it all out. Over all This is a great pair of shades at a decent price.. Plus shipping was super fast and packaging was awesome too. A good sturdy package, but not a pain in the rear to get into.
What I don't like about them: The lenses are not mirrored. I enjoy a good mirrored sunglass lens, mostly so no one knows what I'm looking at. (I like being mysterious like that) But that's a personal preference not a deal breaker on these shades.
All things considered these sunglasses are totally worth the $9.00 price tag.
***On a side note I wish someone would have me review cooking products, or baby items.***
Product review - Gold Bond 2% colloidal oatmeal Eczema relief skin protection cream
I hate to admit it, but age is getting to me, and with it comes terrible things like dry itchy elbows, and menopausal things we won't speak of. I've tried everything for these poor old elbows, from vasoline products, to corn huskers lotion, to udder cream, with no noticeable results but until this Gold Bond product. My husband has sprinkled Gold Bond powder in his socks for years to help with the yuckiness of working an outside jobs in the summertime, and so when I saw this in my search for the next thing to try for my elbow issue, I jumped on it. Now it says it has "colloidal oatmeal" in it and I don't know exactly what that is, but it must be some great stuff because let me tell you what!!!
This lotion is Top Shelf lotion. The best of the best as far as I have ever found.
You know how some lotions leave a slimy residue that you don't notice until you shower and then whoop there it is? This does not do that. I noticed immediate results in my skin, the itchiness that drove me nuts was gone immediately, and even the tone of my skin improved after a few uses. I have nothing but good thing the say about this product.. Gold Bond 2% colloidal oatmeal Eczema relief skin protection cream it gets 5 stars on my review list. Now don't get me wrong, it isn't an overnight cure. But it is a step in the right direction with some relief even on the first use and no slimy residue as I mentioned before. I can't think of anything not to love about this product. I even put the lotion on a burn from the oven and it is healing remarkably well and fast. GoldBond Eczema lotion is worth a closer look.
