Delicious Bacon Beer cheese with bread cubes

I've been hearing so much about beer cheese lately and then we went to Applebee's and it was on the menu and I immediately knew I had to try it at home. Now this isn't the copycat beer cheese recipe I posted yesterday that I want to try but this is a variation of that and some other beer cheese recipes I found online. I'm terrible.. or either really great about that... Reading 50 different recipes and then doing my own thing based on what I've read in each.

cream cheese cheddar cheese beer onion dip for bread, crackers or pretzels

This beer cheese was a little tangier after it cooled but still delicious. I served it with sour dough, and pumpernickel cubed bread slices that came from Atlanta Bread Company. But it could be served with your choice of bread, or crackers, or pretzels sticks, or even soft pretzels and be just as delicious. This would be a great game day snack, or any party appetizer recipe, its quick, easy and oh so yummy.

decadent beer cheese dip with Dijon and Worcestershire great with crackers, bread, or pretzels

Here is that recipe

warm beer cheese dip

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1 block cream cheese
1/3 stick butter
2 tbsp stone ground Dijon mustard
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup beer
1/3 cup green onion stalks diced
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp bacon flavoring powder (or 1/4 cup bacon bits)
1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 cup milk
dash of salt and pepper to taste ( i would recommend letting this cook an hour or two and then test for saltiness after ingredients have mingled)

put all ingredients into a crock pot or slow cooker and set to low heat for 4 hours stirring occasionally

then serve with your choice of crackers or bread, or pretzels

simple as that..

**Note - I used bacon flavored powder cuz I was feeling lazy but Oscar Mayer real bacon bits or bacon you cook yourself would be equally yummy, if not more so.. **

**additional note - some ingredients like Worcestershire sauce, bacon powder, and dijon mustard already have salt added so it is important to let your dip simmer for a while before testing for salt content to give ingredients time to come together flavor wise..
