easy 4 ingredient salmon stew that will make your mouth happy

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of this recipe, but it is quick and easy and takes about 10 to 12 minutes to make. Not to mention it isn't very pricy either. 4 ingredients is all you need for this flavor filled yummy salmon stew recipe.

I grew up on this, one of dad's favorites growing up, he would add ketchup to his, but I like mine plain, so either way you want it its still gonna be super delicious and super quick, and even inexpensive.

quick easy dinner recipe to make your mouth happy in only 12 minutes

RECIPE LEVEL = NO LEFTOVERS

4 Ingredient Salmon Stew

1 can salmon
1/3 stick of butter
3 cups milk
oyster crackers, saltines, ritz, or bacon flavored ritz all work nicely or perhaps some other cracker or croutons you enjoy in soup..

I used bacon flavored ritz crackers

add all ingredients except bread or crackers and simmer (do not boil because of milk) simmer over medium heat stirring from time to time until butter is melted (approx 10 to 12 minutes) serve in a bowl over crushed crackers or croutons immediately.

  1. Great to see this recipe for salmon stew. I thought that only my family made this! I have my variation on this good stuff:

    2 quarts whole milk
    1 can evaporated milk (optional)
¼ pound / stick of butter (or a little more for added richness)
1 can salmon (or two, if you want more fish in it)
    1 medium onion, finely diced
¼ pound pack saltine crackers, crushed (from regular 1 pound box)
    Black pepper to taste

In large boiler or pot, melt butter. When melted, add onion and sauté until cooked, though not browned.

Add the whole can of salmon to the cooked onions and turn up the heat to get the mixture of salmon, onions, and butter quite hot, though not hot enough to brown. When all is hot, stir in milk and reduce heat. This technique allows the milk to come up to serving temperature much more quickly.

Stir in the crushed saltine crackers and continue to stir mixture on moderate heat until hot enough to enjoy but not hot enough to scorch or turn the milk. (Be extra careful not to boil mixture, lest the milk separate.)

    While cooking, add black pepper.

Serve with iced tea, a variety of cheeses, sweet pickles, and more saltine crackers for best enjoyment. Some people like to add Tabasco or Texas Pete. Some add grated mild cheddar cheese.

Eat until you burst. It’s even better the next day, warmed up.
