Saturday family fun day

It's the first Saturday of October and It was such a beautiful day out, even this old homebody got an itching to get out there and enjoy the day with some of the family. We did some shopping, took some pictures, ate some food, and it was a great day. I had hoped we would have time to go to the park too, but time got away from us and it was dark before we finished up our shopping, and errand running.

We got these two little beauties set for Halloween, costumes ready and waiting. We shopped around a bit at Party City for their costumes but they didn't have costumes on display, they had pictures of costumes and then you had to ask for help, which is fine for an adult, but a three year old doesn't get excited about a wall of pictures, so her costume came from walmart where she actually got to see and touch the costumes.

Clarissa the 3 year old is going to be super girl. I have to warn you tho if you buy your child this costume just know that the skirt has glitter, and that glitter will get on EVERYTHING!!!

and little sister 7 month old Paisley is going to be some pink monster I have never heard of. But still adorable as can be..

isn;t she cute in her halloween costume, bottoms are footie pajamas but we didnt make the old grump try tht on tinight as she is busy getting a new tooth and didn't feel up to it

We didn't put her bottoms on because she is getting a tooth and it was late and she was kinda grumpy, but it had footy, furry, pajamas that go with it and she is going to be the cutest pink monster ever in the history of pink monsters.

We didn't buy anything at party city, but Clarissa, and aunt Hannah had the best time trying on masks. I think they tried every mask in the place, everything from clown maks, to chuckie masks, to mushroom and hotdog hats, Here is a few fun pictures of their antics.

Even uncle Ryan got into it a little, but he is hard to ever get a picture of so this is the only one I was able to get without his face hidden

It was really fun, we used to do stuff like this more often but them money got tight and so its a rare and special occasion when we can go out and just have fun these days.

We also got to have Applebee's tonight and I had the three appetizers for 12.99 deal, I got the beer cheese and soft pretzels, spinach avocado dip with tortilla chips, and chicken wonton tacos.

I have had the chicken wonton tacos before and have always loved them, I could eat them every day of the week and still love them, I don't eat them as tacos however. I usually pour the insides on my plate and crumble the wonton over it more like a salad I guess. But either way the stuff is amazing, I love it so much I searched for a copy cat recipe, and found one that I am dying to try.. Here it is if you want to try it..

The recipe includes making your own coleslaw and I plan to skin that step and use the dole ore shredded coleslaw mix personally, but you can do it either way you like.

I also love Applebee's spinach and artichoke dip, and have not tried it yet but googled a copycat recipe for that too, that you can find here.

This was my first time ordering the Beer cheese and soft pretzels tho, and I fell in love with it too. I normally eat very little, but I had no leftovers tonight, these comfort foods all hit the spot for me, so I foresee Beer cheese and soft pretzels on the menu here at home also pretty soon. I found a copy cat recipe for that too... Again, not tried as of yet, but certainly in the very near future it will be.

I will probably buy the froze microwavable soft pretzels to go with it but I intend to try this puppy out too. If you try any of these recipes out before I get the chance please comment and let me know what you thought.
