One of my most favorite things is my garden, and my plants, and This year I didnt put the effort into it that I might have toher wise because I was still not over my oral surgery when planting time camre about. So I planted lots of things, from herbs, to veggies, to wildflowers all in the same bed in a way that wasnt so smart.. Ok.. I was more than a little lasy about it. I just threw everything in the flower bed, ran the rake over it to spread it out and watered till it bloomed. This seemed like a good idea at the time. But now I have plants that I cant identify. I know they are herbs of some sort. But I have no idea what..
Here are the pictures and if you could tell me what I have here.. Id love you forever..
This is a pic of the plant from the top and from the side.. It has a sweet minty smell to it.. But the leaves aren't what mint leaves I've grown or found on line look like. The leaves actually remind me of marigold leaves, but the color is more the color of the dill plant I have. More muted.. It doesn't have flowers yet. Im not sure what it is to even know if it gets flowers.. The fact that it has such a strong aroma makes me think it i an herb. but I also planted wild flower mixes in the same bed so I wouldnt swear to it..
This is the othe , I havent smelled it.. Or cant smell it, or whatever.. it may just be a weed but my heart says this is an herb also..It has no flowers either. it is almost as tall as the other plant I photo'd and its so pretty that even if it is a weed Im just gonna let it grow cuz I like it.. Its abut the same color as the above plant.
and just for good measure so you don't think I am a totally illiterate gardener I will show you my tomato and sunflower plants.
This thing is taller than me so I think it will prolly be huge before the thing finally blooms an I thought sunflowers only got one flower on them, but this one has a flower growing in the crook of every leaf that extends from it.. I dunno, but Im learning, and I like it. I like all flowers but this and my day lilies are my favorites.. Roses used to be, but fo whatever reason my roses haven't bloomed this season. They are usually loaded by now.. Go figure..
This is my tomato. It is loaded with tomatos and blooms, but for whatever reason around the stem has scars.. you can see the dark spots at the top of the plant. Watering too much or too little I guess. But I have picked one tomato so far and i made a delicious tomato sammich so even if it is ugly as long as it taste like heaven (and it does) I am completely satified..
as for the topsy turvy tomato.. It is growing and blooming like crazy but it is always thirsty. I water it three times a day to keep it from dropping.. I guess it doesnt help that I planted a jalapeno in the top of the planter but I did. and it looks nice so if watering three times aday is what I must do then so be it. I have never been one for following rules anyway...
Ill have to post morepics later but for now if you can identify my mystery plants I would be so thankful.. Hope everyone is having a sunny day..
